Episode # 1 (11/8/65): Julie Olson steals a fur stole in front of her friends, Carol and Diane, and is caught by the store’s detective. She lies and tells the detective her last name is Horton. Julie's grandparents, Alice and Tom are the Hortons that she refers to. Alice tells Tom that the house seems empty now that all of their children have moved out (daughter Marie will be the last to go). Marie returns home with her fiancé, Tony Merritt, and they discuss wedding plans with an ecstatic Alice. Tom and son Mickey rush to the police station to deal with Julie. Marie and Tony discuss their future plans in Boston once they get married. Julie tells Tom that her parents are never around and that no one cares if she steals anything. She breaks down crying.

Episode # 2 (11/9/65): Mickey tries to explain the severity of the charges to Julie. Tom gets the detective to allow Julie to go home with him, since Ben and Addie can not be found. Tony tries to hide his unexplained pains from Marie, who is sad that her fiance is leaving for Boston tomorrow, but happy to be marrying him soon. Tony's father, Craig, stops by and says he will drive them to the airport the next day. Marie shows Julie her wedding dress to try and take her mind off things, but it doesn't work. Tom says that her parents have been located and are on their way to see her. Tom tells Julie she must act grown up now and be prepared for what will happen.

Episode # 3 (11/10/65): Ben and Addie arrive at the Horton house very late at night, with Mickey, and Marie lets him in. Ben argues with Mickey over how to handle the case. Ben seems to be more upset over what press coverage there will be of the event, instead of worrying about his daughter Julie. Julie walks in as Mickey is questioning this. Marie and Mickey watch helplessly as Ben and Addie get into an argument over how they spend their days. Marie tries to help, but Ben sends her away. Julie doesn't want to go home, but Ben makes her. Meanwhile, Craig and Marie are getting ready to say their goodbyes to Tony, who is leaving for Boston. Marie and Tony talk about their future together, imagining how many children they will have. The next morning, Ben and Addie head over to Bartlett's to meet with the manager, Mr. Franklin. Ben hopes to take care of the incident and have the charges dropped, but Mr. Franklin says it's out of his hands. A closed-circuit camera caught Julie stealing the fur, and it's already been seen by the authorities. Ben is outraged. As the episode ends, Craig takes Marie home and offers his house to her and Tony if they stay in Salem after they are married.

Episode # 4 (11/11/65): The Bartlett's Department Store manager, Mr. Franklin, shows Ben and Addie a closed-circuit video recording of their daughter Julie stealing a fur coat from Bartlett's. Addie wants her brother, Mickey, to be Julie's lawyer, but Ben wants his friend, Harry Grill, to be the lawyer. When they get home, Ben talks with Julie, calling her "a common thief." He sets the ground rules for her, grounding her for a week. Before they leave, Addie tells Julie that "cook left an oven pan in the sink" and she wants it washed by the time they get back. After calling Ben and arguing over who will be Julie's lawyer, Mickey tells Tom and Alice that Ben thinks he can buy and fix everything. He says that Ben and Addie need to spend more time with teenage Julie, who is "rebellious, defiant, and lies" all the time. Mickey agrees to stay overnight with his parents on one condition: that Tom has a game of chess with him before bed. Meanwhile, Tony unpacks his things at his good friend Jim's apartment. Tony is in Boston to check on getting a job. Jim suggests they go out for a bagel. However, Tony can't because he feels sick. As the episode ends, Julie asks her younger brother, Steve, to lend her his allowance. He says he's been saving it since he was eight years old to buy a drum set, and now has $400. Julie says to give it to her because she wants to get out of Salem and attend modeling school in Chicago.

Episode # 5 (11/12/65): As Marie works on putting all of her incoming wedding gifts together in one place, Julie arrives, upset about no one ever taking her side. Marie tries to get her mind off things by asking her to help with the wedding gifts. Craig arrives and he has a warm-hearted talk with Marie. She says not only does she have the best father in the world, but is going to have the best father-in-law as well. A crash in the kitchen interrupts their chat: Julie dropped a vase while she was snooping through Marie's unopened wedding gifts. Julie is shown to like Craig a lot, since she feels he is the only person not against her. Ben arrives for a chat with Mickey and wants to know how he can "help" with Julie's case. Mickey is very upset and annoyed with Ben, and tells him he does not want Ben to buy justice for Julie. Julie gets angry when Marie says that Craig can't drive her home, she needs to take a bus. After Julie leaves, Tony calls from Boston. He tells Marie and Craig that everything is okay, but once he hangs up the phone, he has another terrible pain.
