Happy 91st, Betty White!
25th Anniversary of her "Days" appearances!!

Betty White, who just turned 91 earlier this month, is still as busy as ever, starring in not one, but two, TV series, "Hot in Cleveland" and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers."
Back during her "Golden Girls" heydey, Betty also made some cameo appearances on the NBC daytime lineup, during the week of January 25-29, 1988.   
NBC made it a contest for viewers to count the number of times that she appeared on the daytime soaps ("Days", "Another World" and "Santa Barbara."), calling it the "Where's Betty?" contest.
Betty ended up appearing in two episodes of "Days" with her episodes airing 25 years ago this week.


On January 26, 1988, she appeared as a nurse in a scene with Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy).
On January 29, 1988, she appeared as a woman who ran into Frankie Brady (Billy Warlock) at his school.
At the end of that scene, Frankie does a double take, as though he seems to recognize the woman as the real Betty White.
At the end of the two clips are the rules for the "Where's Betty?" contest, which aired just before the end credits on the January 26, 1988 episode.



2020 UPDATE: The mystery of Betty White's "third" episode was solved by soap fan Albert. Betty is listed as taping a scene as "Brenda" on January 12, 1988:

Betty is listed as playing a principal role named Brenda. Soap fan Albert confirmed in May 2020 that Betty actually played the character of Brenda on "Another World." To make it easier on Betty, she ended up taping her AW scenes (a phone call) at the "Days" studio. The pre-tape character Trent Dolan is listed as (Mac) is actually the AW character Mac Cory. Dolan was used as a stand-in for AW actor Douglass Watson, who taped his portion of the AW phone call scenes in New York.
