Happy 91st, Betty White!
25th Anniversary of her "Days" appearances!!

Betty White, who just turned 91 earlier this month, is still as busy as ever, starring in not one, but two, TV series, "Hot in Cleveland" and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers."
Back during her "Golden Girls" heydey, Betty also made some cameo appearances on the NBC daytime lineup, during the week of January 25-29, 1988.
NBC made it a contest for viewers to count the number of times that she appeared on the daytime soaps ("Days", "Another World" and "Santa Barbara."), calling it the "Where's Betty?" contest.
Betty ended up appearing in two episodes of "Days" (although there seems to be a mystery THIRD scene cut...see below for details!), with her episodes airing 25 years ago this week.

On January 26, 1988, she appeared as a nurse in a scene with Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy).
On January 29, 1988, she appeared as a woman who ran into Frankie Brady (Billy Warlock) at his school.
At the end of that scene, Frankie does a double take, as though he seems to recognize the woman as the real Betty White.
At the end of the two clips are the rules for the "Where's Betty?" contest, which aired just before the end credits on the January 26, 1988 episode.

The mystery of her "third" episode arises from the day she taped her scenes on January 12, 1988:

Note that on the parking clearance, Betty is listed as playing THREE characters....the two U/5 cameos she appeared in (Teacher U/5 with Billy Warlock) and (Nurse # 2 with Charles Shaughnessy).
She is listed as playing a principal role named Brenda. Whoever Brenda is did not make it to the final cut! That character might have been involved with the pre-taping Mac (actor Trent Dolan), because
he also does not appear at all. For now, Betty as Brenda remains a mystery!!

Here's Betty's first episode cast/set list for # 5663, aired January 26, 1988.

Here's Betty's second episode cast/set list for # 5666, aired January 29, 1988.

Thanks for all the fun through the years, Betty!
From "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" to "The Golden Girls" to "Hot in Cleveland"...and for spending a few hours in Salem USA!!
