Drake Hogestyn (John) played minor-league baseball in the 1970's. He was known then by his first name, Donald. Drake is his middle name. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in January, 1973 but did not sign. Then, in June 1976, Hogestyn was drafted in the last round (581st overall) by the New York Yankees. This time he did sign and played two seasons (1976 and 1977). In 1976, he was named to the New York-Penn League All-Star Team. He was injured and retired from the game after the 1977 season. He then moved to California and became an actor, joining "Days" in 1986 as John Black. Below the articles are the official statistics for Hogestyn during his two years of playing baseball.
