Peter Brown continues to occassionally act and has made
appearances in such series as "JAG" and "Bablyon 5."
Tom Brown as Nathan Curtis (1975-1976)
Tom Brown appeared as rancher Ed O'Connor for many years on
"Gunsmoke." He passed away on June 3, 1990 at the age of 75.
Macdonald Carey as Tom Horton
(1965-1994)
Macdonald Carey continued to play Tom until his death, at
age 81, on March 21, 1994. Carey's voice is still used today starting off
each episode of "Days" with his famous line "Like sands through the
hourglass so are the days of our lives."
John Clarke as Mickey Horton
(1965-2004)
John Clarke retired from acting in January, 2004 after
having played the role of Mickey Horton for over 38 years. His daughter, Melinda, now appears on "The O.C." Clarke is now enjoying
retirement with his wife of many years, Patty.
Frederic Downs as Hank Wilson
(1973-1980)
Frederic Downs was also a writer and wrote a play about
Abraham Lincoln called "Lincoln's Scrapbook." His major movies included
"The Cotton Club" and "Splendor in the Grass." Downs died on April 24,
1998 at the age of 81.
Mary Frann as Amanda Howard (1974-1979)
Mary Frann went on to play Bob Newhart's wife, Joanna, for
eight years on "Newhart." She died on September 23, 1998 at the age of
55.
Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans (1976-1987,
1991-2009)
Deidre Hall portrayed Marlena for over 28 years in
total. Her last appearance on "Days" was in January, 2009.
Adrienne LaRussa as Brooke Hamilton
(1975-1977)
LaRussa made her last acting appearance in an episode of
"Jake and the Fatman" in 1991. She now works as a real estate
agent in Beverly Hills, California.
Edward Mallory as Bill Horton (1966-1980,
1992-1993)
Mallory left acting soon after leaving "Days" in 1980 to
focus on full-time directing. He briefly returned for a handful of episodes as
Bill Horton in 1992 and 1993. He worked as a college professor at
Frostburg State University in Maryland, until his death at the age of 76
on April 4, 2007.
Fran Ryan as Rosie Carlson (1976-1979)
Fran Ryan went on to play many guest appearances in
television. She also starred on the short-lived series "The Wizard" as Tilly.
She appeared in films such as "Stripes" and "Rocky II." Ryan died at the
age of 83 on January 15, 2000.
Ken Sansom as Dr. Frederick Powell
(1976)
Ken Sansom retired from on-screen acting in 1987, making
his last appearance in "Newhart." He has focused mainly on voiceover work since then, and has been voicing the character of Rabbit
in all the "Winnie the Pooh" cartoons made since 1988.
Maren Stephenson as Jennifer Horton
(1976-1977)
Maren Stephenson originated the role of Jennifer Horton
when the character was born in January 1976 and played her for the first
year of her life. It was her only acting role. Stephenson now lives
in Idaho.
Kaye Stevens as Jeri Clayton
(1974-1979)
Kaye Stevens retired from acting in 1992. Her final acting
appearance came in the 1992 television movie "Miss America: Behind
the Crown." She is a breast cancer survivor and now lives in Florida and owns a
night club.
William Traylor as James Stanhope
(1976-1977)
Traylor continued to act and made appearances in such
series as "Dynasty" as well as several "Fletch" movies. He died on September 23, 1989 at the age of 59.
Patty Weaver as Trish Clayton
(1974-1982)
Weaver currently plays Gina Roma on "The Young and the
Restless." She is married to one of that show's writers, Jerry Birn.
Janet Wood as Ginny Stanhope (1976)
Janet Wood has been acting non-stop since leaving "Days."
She most recently appeared in episodes of "Charmed" and "Six Feet Under."
