Drake Hogestyn

20 Years on "Days"!

January 24, 1986-Present
Drake Hogestyn (John Black, 1/24/86-Present), who taped his first episode on January 10, 1986, joins the 20 consecutive-year club on-contract with "Days of Our Lives", becoming only the 4th person (and the first non-original castmember) in the history of the series to do so. On Tuesday, January 24, Drake will join Frances Reid (Alice Horton, 11/8/65-Present), John Clarke (Mickey Horton, 11/8/65-1/28/04), and Macdonald Carey (Tom Horton, 11/8/65-2/9/94) as the only four castmembers to be on-contract with "Days" for 20 or more years continuously.

Seven other actors have been with the show for more than 20 years, but have not aired for 20 years in a row: Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Horton) had breaks from 1984-1985 and 2003-2004; Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) had breaks from 1984-1989; and has recurred since 1993; Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans Black) was off from 1987-1991; Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) was off from 1984-1985 and from 1988-1993; and has recurred since then; James Reynolds (Abe Carver) was off from 1990-1991; and Peggy McCay & Frank Parker (Caroline & Grandpa Shawn) have both been off various amounts of time since their debuts in 1983.

Congratulations to Drake on this historic milestone! Next in line to reach the 20-year consecutive mark on-contract is Frank Parker (Grandpa Shawn), who has been on-contract since May 18, 1990 and will reach the mark on May 18, 2010.
