Ford Rainey

     Ford Rainey, who portrayed Marlena Evans' father, Frank Evans, from 1977-1978, has died. Rainey died of complications from a series of recent strokes at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California. He was 96. Rainey was born on August 8, 1908 in Mountain Home, Idaho. He attended the Cornish Drama School in Seattle, Washington and worked in regional theater companies and in local radio. In 1939, he made his Broadway debut in "Possessed." He served off Oregon with the Coast Guard in World War II and after the war made his movie debut with an uncredited role in the 1949 feature film "White Heat."
     Mr. Rainey had regular roles in six television series. He appeared as Lloyd Ramsey in "Window on Main Street" in 1961; in various roles on "The Richard Boone Show" from 1963-1964; as Dr. Barnett in "Search" in 1972; as James Barrett in "The Manhunter" from 1974-1975; and as Jim Elgin in "The Bionic Woman" from 1976-1977. His last series regular role was on "Days of Our Lives."
     He appeared in countless other roles on television, including such series as "Danger", "Bonanza", "Rawhide", "Dr. Kildare", "Gunsmoke", "Perry Mason", "The Untouchables", "The Virginian", "The Nurses", "The Outer Limits", "Mr. Novak", "Lassie", "Lost in Space", "The Big Valley", "Get Smart", "The Fugitive", "The Iron Horse", "The F.B.I.", "Cimarron Strip", "Mannix", "The Mod Squad", "Cannon", "The Rookies", "Kung Fu", "Barnaby Jones", "The Rockford Files", "Little House on the Prairie", "The Streets of San Francisco", "The Waltons", "Charlie's Angels", "M*A*S*H", "St. Elsewhere", "Remington Steele", "Newhart", "Falcon Crest", "Matlock", "Moonlighting", "China Beach", "Wiseguy", "Ned and Stacey", "Picket Fences", "ER" and, in his final appearances he played the recurring role of Jerry Stiller's friend, Mickey, on "The King of Queens" from 1999-2003.
