A Fan Tribute to Suzanne Rogers

35 fans discuss 35 years of Suzanne Rogers & Maggie Horton

"I had the privilege of meeting Suzanne at a fan event in 2004.  She's a very special lady. I've watched 'Days' since 1970 and have enjoyed Maggie since she joined the show. Congratulations to Suzanne on 35 years of Days of Our Lives!" - Carolyn from Ohio

"I love you, Maggie! You are a beautiful woman with strength of character and lasting beauty - inside as well as out. Hope to see much more of you in days to come." - Mary Lou from Colorado

"I watched Days as a kid with my Mom. I remember Mickey ending up on that farm without his memory and falling for that cute little red head. I think it was when Maggie walked without her crutches for the first time that has remained in my mind and heart. Suzanne, and her character Maggie, are the reason after so many years I keep coming back to Days. Suzanne, congratulations, and thank you for 35 years of great entertainment!" - Steven from Nevada

"Suzanne, I want you to know how much I've enjoyed your role as Maggie Horton over the years. One of my favorite things about your character is her relationship with Lucas. It is so touching how Maggie has supported and encouraged and stuck by him. You are a lovely woman and I appreciate what you bring to Days of Our Lives." - Judy from Texas

"Thank you Suzanne for all the years you have given to 'Days of Our Lives.' I have always enjoyed watching you.  You are a really great actress and play the part of Maggie so well. I have watched Days from its beginning. Watching you and Mickey fall in love was awesome. Mickey reminded me of my husband, they looked a little alike, so I really connected with that special bond you both had (and I was from a farm too)!" - Yvonne from South Carolina

"I have had a hard time choosing my favorite Maggie moment. The one that comes to mind is the surrogate mother storyline where Maggie has Sarah. Suzanne was amazing playing the role. You could just feel her pain when talking to Mickey about going into the surrogate program. Maggie wanted to experience the feeling of a baby growing inside her and childbirth. Thanks for all the memories, Suzanne. 35 years have gone by in a flash!" - Donna from Montreal

"There are so many things I love about Suzanne Rogers and her portrayal of Maggie Horton, it is hard to narrow it down. Maggie always looks stunning, her clothes are fabulous, and I so envy the gorgeous red hair. Once when Mickey won a case and was going to take Maggie to Mexico, they did this Mexican hat dance with John & Marlena, it was so much fun to watch. Maggie's affair with Neil Curtis was so well done, while her scenes as Lucas's AA sponsor are perfect. Etched in my mind's eye forever is the discovery of her body when killed by the Salem Stalker. Congratulations, Ms. Rogers, on your 35th anniversary with Days of Our Lives. You are such an integral part of Salem, and have brought so much pleasure to us viewers." - Barb from Wisconsin

"Thank you, Suzanne Rogers, for the class that you bring to the character of Maggie. You make her a joy to watch. She is a classy lady as are you. Congratulations on 35 years of excellance!" - Tammy from Texas

"I can vividly remember Maggie's first appearance. What a beautiful, gracious, kind addition she was to Salem. Through all her many trials, tribulations and triumphs, she has been classy, elegant and loving, but when she needs to be, that redhead can get fired up, too!  I still get teary eyed thinking of the famous 'red shoes' episode, which was one of the most beautiful expressions of love ever on Days. Suzanne Rogers has made Maggie a real person to me, one I would love to spend time with, a treasured member of my TV family. Happy Anniversary!" - Debbie from Illinois

"I've been a fan of Days for many years and one of my favorite characters has always been Maggie. From the moment that she started on the show, her beauty and grace has shown through every storyline that she's been in. Any time that she's on the screen, the show comes alive!  Suzanne Rogers, you rock!" - Linda from Maryland

"Thank you so much for the amazing memories. I would have to say my favorite memory was your storyline during the whole Salem Stalker ordeal. You played your part to a "T" and, in my opinion, you gave one of the best death scenes ever! I also enjoyed your comedic performance during the Maggie/Mickey/Bonnie triangle. I'm so glad your character won Mickey's heart. Congratulations! 35 years with Days is a huge milestone and accomplishment! Here is to many more years as Maggie Horton!" - Todd from Wisconsin

"I have been watching Days for many years. Maggie was just a young girl living on a farm and in a wheelchair. She just couldn't wait to wear those red dancing shoes.  Mickey was her 'Prince Charming.' Those days were so heart-warming.  I've watched Mickey disappear, Maggie become an alcoholic, their daughter grow up, Mickey's heart attacks and surgeries, Maggie's disappearance and returning to find Mickey married to someone else, and all the other ups and downs of their life together.  Through it all, Maggie has handled each and every bump in the road with dignity and grace. It must be a wonderfully satisfying career you have chosen. I wish you much happiness in your future.  You are a gifted actress and a lovely lady. Congratulations on 35 years!" - Donna from Arizona

"I want to thank you for the years of enjoyment you have given me (and all your many fans). I've been watching since you first joined Days. Whatever storyline you were involved in, your commitment as a performer has always been nothing short of amazing. It always rings true, and your audience cares. You take us with you wherever you go. You have taken us through dark times and loving times, through sorrow, sacrifice and joy. You are an artist and a remarkable lady! Happy anniversary, Suzanne.  Please know how deeply you are appreciated and admired!" - Erika from Oregon

"I met Suzanne last year. I had won a lunch with the stars. I sat next to her and she told me all about being a former Radio City Rockette and how she was in Broadway musicals. She was brought up in the South, and when she was little, she used to tap dance on the hearth of her fireplace at home. She is also very religious and said she goes to church every Sunday, no matter what. I remember when Mickey met Maggie.  She was on crutches, and Mickey always called her Red. She has always been one of my favorites on the show. Congratulations, Suzanne Rogers! Here's to 35 more years!" - Pat from New York

"'Red', I remember when Mickey first wandered into your life. You're still as beautiful now as you were then. It's always a pleasure to see you on screen. Thank you for 35 great years." - Linda from Maryland

"Not only has Suzanne Rogers stood the test of time on the outside, but on the inside too. She was so brave, speaking out about her illness before people even knew what it was. She has lived through so many on-screen changes and she has done it with class, genuine skill, and love. Happy Anniversary! Bravo, and many more anniversary toasts to come, Ms. Rogers!" - Wendy from Connecticut

"Congratulations Suzanne Rogers on your 35th anniversary with 'Days of Our Lives.' I always love it when you’re on the screen. You are such a classy lady! And you are a wonderful dancer too! I can’t remember the particular episode, but It was a dance scene and I think everyone was doing the “Electric Slide” and you did a really funky move and I said, “You Go Girl!” That move was fierce! You are wonderful Suzanne. Much Love and continued success to you!" - Debor'ah from Georgia

"I have been watching 'Days of Our Lives' for 29 years. I have always enjoyed the times when Suzanne Rogers has been on the show. Her warmth and her vivacious personality always shine through in every scene she does. Her superb acting skills compliment everyone she acts with. I wish Ms. Rogers the best of health and happiness for all the days of her life." - Sharon from Rhode Island

"Every time Suzanne Rogers enters a scene, the television screen lights up. It's always a pleasure to see Maggie interact with other characters. Her place in 'Days' history will never be forgotten. Thank you for 35 years, Suzanne!" - Sam from California

"I have thought Maggie was the best since she first came on Days. I loved her storyline with Mickey. She's a beautiful woman. I wish her all the best" - Lin from North Carolina

"I love Maggie! As a 30-year viewer, I have grown up with Maggie. She's like a TV aunt to all of America! My favorite memories of the character are her dual wedding with Mickey, Pete and Melissa; her myasthenia gravis storyline; and (although it was agonizing to viewers at the time), all the exciting airtime she had during hypnosis and being stalked and "killed" by Marlena a few years ago. I was too young to remember some of her early stuff which I know was great too. I've had the good fortune to meet Suzanne Rogers several times at fan events. She is a very fan-interactive, fun person and I really appreciate her dedication and contributions to Days all these years!" - Jim from Washington

"I loved the story line with Maggie and the red shoes. We need to see more of Maggie and Mickey!" - Susan from New York

"Thank you so very much Ms. Rogers for your portrayal as the beautiful and graceful Maggie Horton for the past 35 years. I can't believe it has been that long. I remember when Maggie first met Marty Hansen (aka Mickey Horton) when she was living on that farm and in a wheelchair. You have developed Maggie from a pretty fiesty young woman to a classy lady. Thank you so very much for gracing my screen all this time." - Maureen from Florida

"I have enjoyed everything about Maggie, but what stands out to me is when she met Mickey at the farm. She is a really beautiful woman." - Carol from Ohio

"I remember when Maggie first came on the show. The first time she and Marty (Mickey) danced was beautiful. I loved the red shoes he bought her." - Georgia from Georgia

"I want to congratulate Suzanne for the length of her run on Days. She is one of the most beautiful women in daytime, and has only gotten more beautiful as time has gone by. She also seems to be as sweet and real as she is beautiful!" - Debra from Alabama

"I remember when Mickey had amnesia and left Salem and ended up at the farm where Maggie lived and was paralyzed. She dreamed of dancing in pretty red shoes and he always promised her she would someday dance in them...and she did." - Cheryl from Virginia

"Congratulations Suzanne! I have loved watching you play Maggie. I have watched you play this role since day one." - Barbara from Florida

"You are just as beautiful as the day you started on Days. You are Days of Our Lives. Congratulations on your anniversary!" - Shirl from Ohio

"Congratulations, Suzanne, on your 35th anniversary! I'm looking forward to many more years with Maggie!" - Linda from West Virginia

"Wow...35 years! I have been watching you for a long, long time. Have a very happy 35th!" - Ruth from Nevada

"Congrats to you Suzanne! My son and I saw you in person in the 1980's. You still look so beautiful and stylish!" - Carol & John from Nevada

"Congratulations, Suzanne, on your 35th anniversary with Days! You look just as good as you did that first day you met "Marty"!  My favorite scene is when he gave you your red dancing shoes!" - Brenda from Alabama

"My favorite Maggie storylines include when she was raped by Ian Griffith; her myasthenia gravis storyline where she was ill; the classic "red shoes" story with Mickey; when Stefano dated her while keeping Mickey hostage on a South American compound; and her spirited temper with Pete Jannings." - Bobby from New Jersey

"As a newer viewer, some of my favorite Maggie stories include her being "murdered" back in 2003; all the Bonnie stuff; and her being Lucas' AA sponsor. The one thing that stands out that I really enjoyed about Maggie was when John and Maggie would be at each other's throat mostly because of her meddling and being a gossip. For the longest time all Maggie did was be in other people's business, and how funny it was when John started calling her on it.  Every time he did this, I was on the floor.  And it gave Suzanne Rogers something to play with." - Dave from Kentucky
