Weekly Daytime Nielsen Ratings: 1978

Please Note: Five weeks this year (3/20/78, 4/24/78, 6/26/78, 8/28/78, 12/25/78) are known as "fast weekly" weeks, which have preliminary numbers which do not count towards the yearly averages for the shows. Up until 1978, the preliminary numbers for these weeks are not available. In addition, ratings are not yet available for the weeks of 4/10/78 and 4/17/78.

The stations column lists the # of stations that Nielsen counted for the ratings in a particular week. The % column is the amount of the country that received the soap. For some reason, those two numbers seem to fluctuate each week. The notes column lists all of the full and partial preemptions for each soap.
